How dome diffusers work
The key to success in using ozone in water treatment is ensuring that the ozone can be introduced into the process in the most efficient manner. One of the most effective methods is to place a diffuser at the bottom of contact tank, to enable the discharge of homogenous bubbles uniformly through the water inside the tank.
Curio Water design and manufacture a range of dome diffusers for this purpose. The diffuser consists of two major components – a porous aluminium oxide dome and a base with a threaded fitting connecting to the gas source.
Example of usage
The diffusers produce a cloud of small bubbles to create a large contact area, thus ensuring maximum mass-transfer rate The size and number of dome diffusers required (as well as the tank dimensions and geometry) is determined by the application, nominal flow and ozone dose.
For example, facilities for drinking water production require low doses of ozone, short contact time and one chamber with diffusers for ozonation, while facilities for waste water treatment require a much higher ozone dose, longer contact time and multiple chambers for ozonation.
